Note from the editor
The Generative AI in the Newsroom (GAIN) project is an effort to collaboratively explore the responsible use of generative AI in news production. It was launched as an initiative of the Computational Journalism Lab at Northwestern University in January, 2023 and is edited by Nick Diakopoulos. Jeremy Gilbert is a contributing editor and Clare Spencer is a reporter working for GAIN. GAIN is currently supported by a grant from the Knight Foundation.
